With just a couple of weeks left for the premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, ABC has once again teased the fans with an expanded version of the promo that was shared last week.
In this latest sneak peek, Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) is seen declaring “We’re the bad guys,” which suggests that she might possibly help Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) cover up his crime, according to TV Line.
It seems that Alex will be facing the consequences of beating Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) near to death in the Season 12 finale, both professionally as well as personally with Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington), who turns out to be already married. In the first footage, Meredith was seen asking Alex – “You think nobody’s going to realize this is you?” and “You could go to jail!”
This indeed implies that Alex will be on the receiving end of some kind of legal trouble in the upcoming season. In fact, the exclusive images teased by Entertainment Weekly also suggest that Alex’s actions likely reverberating throughout the hospital. In the photos, Meredith is also seen having a conversation with Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.), Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) and Nathan Riggs (Martin Henderson) separately.
As for other details related to the “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, Meredith’s relationships with Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) and Riggs are most likely in a sticky situation, especially after finding out that Maggie has feelings for Riggs.
Actress Caterina Scorsone, who plays the role of Amelia Shepherd in the show has also teased about Meredith and Riggs relationship playing a bigger part in season 13, and even joked that the sisters Meredith and Maggie, could be at loggerheads, if Maggie gets to know the truth. Scorsone has also noted that the upcoming season will feature a big story line for Jo and Alex.
In other news, just as April Kepner (Sarah Drew) has given birth to a bundle of joy, there seems to be a slight chance of reunion for Japril, as even the first look images reveal a perfect one big happy family. However, this might not possibly sit well with Jackson Avery’s (Jesse Williams) mother Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen), as she has most likely lost her only leverage.
Not to forget, showrunner Shonda Rhimes has revealed that Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) will find love interest in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13, though she will be missing in the first two episodes.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 13 will premiere on Sep. 22.
