After nearly months of speculations and really unsettling teaser promos, “American Horror Story” has finally revealed its theme for the latest season. The “AHS” season 6 has been officially titled as “American Horror Story: My Roanoke Nightmare.”

American Horror Story My Roanoke Nightmare

Following the Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, and the Hotel, the sixth installment in the anthology series is based on a colony which is said to have gone missing in 1590 in North Carolina. This concept was in fact teased by Billie Dean Howard, who was called to help in getting rid of the persistent ghosts in “Murder House,” way back in the very first season of “American Horror Story,” according to Entertainment Weekly.

The premiere episode that was titled “Chapter 1” was actually framed as a true crime-style TV documentary, with reenactments of a couple who moved into a house and faced some strange things.

The entire season is more likely set up in dual timelines with two different sets of actors – one set of actors featured in a sit-down interview style in the present day, while the other shows what exactly happened in the not-too-distant past.

The premiere episode focused on a young couple – salesman Matt played by Andre Holland and a yoga teacher Shelby played by Lily Rabe, with Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Sarah Paulson being the counterparts in the flashback. The couple fled from L.A and purchased an 18th-century farmhouse in North Carolina at an auction with their savings.

“From the very first moment, I felt danger there,” Rabe said about the haunted house the couple purchased, TV Line reported.

Just as they start renovating the house, things start to get strange and scary, like trash cans turned projectile, a storm of human teeth raining down on the porch, two ghostly girls in the hallway, secluded outdoor hot tub surrounded by a handful of torches, and a dead pig on the doorstep.

And then, the entry of Matt’s sister Lee (Adina Porter in the docu-interviews, with Angela Bassett in the flashback), a former cop, criminologist, who has lost her job, husband and even the custody of her children due to her addiction to booze and pills. The strange things continue to happen until Shelby (Paulson) heads into the woods and lands into a clearing which is quickly surrounded by figures with torches.

As for the full cast of “American Horror Story” Season 6, fans got to see Kathy Bates, as a old lady, who Shelby (Paulson) happens to hit in the middle of the road, while escaping the horror house. However, when Shelby (Paulson) gets out of the car to check on her victim, Bates casually crept back into the woods.

Chaz Bono is reportedly one of three local hillbillies, who Shebly and Matt overbid to purchase the haunted house. Wes Bentley appeared in the last scene of the “American Horror Story” Season 6 Chapter 1. The other confirmed cast members who are yet to make an appearance include Lady Gaga, Matt Bomer, Evan Peters, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson and Finn Wittrock. Not to forget, just a few days back, it was revealed that “Glee” alum Jacob Artist will join the cast for top-secret role.
