Wayne, the 37-year-old rapper, described himself as ‘one part creativity, and one part grind,’ from inside the mask. He surprised everyone, including all the five judges of the show, as well as the audience, when he shook out his dreadlocks and grinned.

Guest Jamie Foxx guessed the Robot to be former “Jackass” star Steve-O, while Robin Thicke thought it to be snowboarding champ Shaun White. Nicole Scherzinger guessed boxer Floyd Mayweather, while Ken Jeong guessed another hip-hop icon Flavor Flav.

‘Are you kidding me?’ judge Jeong exclaimed while judge Thicke shouted, ‘No! No! I’ve done five songs with him. This is the most shocked I’ve ever been on this show.’

The rapper was delighted by the inability of the judges to figure out who he was and claimed that he chose the outfit of a robot, just for his kids, who would be watching the show. He explained the platinum element to be a reference to his platinum records, fire engine to refer to his hit “Fireman,” video game controller for his recent Xbox commercial.

In the premiere, the fans met the members of Group A – White Tiger, Turtle, Llama, Miss Monster, Robot, and Kangaroo. There was also a sneak peek at Group B – Banana, Elephant, Frog, Mouse, Taco, and Kitty, and Group C – Astronaut, Night Angel, Rhino, Bear, Swan, and T Rex make up Group C.
