‘The Young and the Restless’ To Return To Production In Early July
“The Young and the Restless” is all set to become the second U. S. daytime drama to return to production, following “The Bold and the Beautiful.” The “Y&R” will probably resume filming on July 6, 2020.
It has been reported that the producers of “The Young and the Restless” have notified the cast and crew with plans to get back on set on July 6. However, with the ongoing COVID-19 conditions, it has been very clearly stated that the date of July 6 is only a tentative date, as reported by Deadline.
[Update: The production date has been pushed back to July 13, 2020.]
“The Young and the Restless” suspended production in mid-March amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and ran out of original episodes at the end of April. Since then the show has been airing re-runs curated into theme weeks.
The show runners of “Young and Restless” are in contact with their counterparts of “Bold and Beautiful,” in regards to the safety precautions and other customary actions, required to be followed before returning to filming.
“The Bold and the Beautiful” was the first to restart filming on June 17, 2020, in the United States, before going on a break again to better equip for the large number of COVID-19 testing of the cast and the crew. The “B&B” will resume production by June 23, 2020.
As for “The Young and the Restless,” CBS renewed the show in January, for four more years, through 2024. The show is currently airing its 47th season.
