Enola Holmes: Netflix Gives First Glimpse of Movie Starring Henry Cavill, Millie Bobby Brown

Netflix, today, revealed the first look from the upcoming mystery film, Enola Holmes, based on the book “Enola Holmes Mysteries” series by Nancy Springer. The movie stars “Stranger Things” actress Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Claflin among others.

The first images released by the streaming platform, gives a glimpse of the three central characters – Cavill as legendary detective Sherlock Holmes, Claflin as Mycroft Holmes and Millie as Enola Holmes. In one particular picture, Enola can be seen wielding a bow and arrow, as reported by EW.com

“England, 1884 – a world on the brink of change. On the morning of her 16th birthday, Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) wakes to find that her mother (Helena Bonham Carter) has disappeared, leaving behind an odd assortment of gifts but no apparent clue as to where she’s gone or why,” reads the official synopsis of the movie.

The movie will revolve around Enola escaping to London, in search of her mother (Helena Bonham Carter), from her two caring brothers, who want to send her to a finishing school. The other cast members include Louis Partridge, playing a young runaway Lord, who will get her entangled in a mystery. This leads to the 16-year-old-detective-in-the-making to unravel a conspiracy that kind of threatens to set back the course of history.

It was reported that the “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown made a deal of $6.1 million with the production house for her role as Enola Holmes in the new movie. She had also been credited as one of the producers of the project.

The movie is slated to be released in September 2020. However, just with Netflix revealing the first look, a major lawsuit was filed in Mexico court, related to this movie, by the representatives for the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. It’s not clear, if this will have any effect on the release date.
