‘Days of Our Lives’: Production To Resume In September
“Days of Our Lives” has schedule to resume production in September, joining the other three daytime soaps, in getting to the sets as early as possible.
It has been reported that the Corday Productions, behind “Days of Our Lives,” has sent out emails to the cast members and other crew members, notifying that the new episodes filming will resume on September 1, 2020, according to Deadline. However, NBC, Corday Productions and Sony Pictures TV have declined to comment on the report.
This will make “DOOLs” the last soap, to get back on the sets after the productions were halted in an industry-wide shutdown to combat the corona virus pandemic. Likely for the fans of “Days,” the soap opera had enough fresh episodes to last through October, which was not the case for the other soap operas. “GH,” “B&B” and “Y&R” ran out of new episodes in May, following which they had been running theme weeks of reruns.
Earlier last month, CBS’s “The Bold and the Beautiful” resumed production after following strict COVID-19 safety protocols, but was halted again, due to unreliable test results of the cast and crew.
CBS’s another soap opera “The Young and the Restless” first planned to start shooting on July 6, but then, pushed back to July 13, which is also just a tentative date.
As for the ABC’s “General Hospital,” the soap opera is getting ready for a potential mid-July production restart, and the date is yet to be confirmed.
